From 2001 to 2011, the band was known as Pleasure Groove. The group started as a popular nightclub band, performing in some of the top casino and hotel nightclubs in the St. Louis area. Drawing on their experience as a high energy nightclub act, Pleasure Groove quickly became highly in demand as a wedding and corporate event band, eventually making the decision to focus exclusively on private events, with an occasional public concert.
In 2012 the name of the band was changed to Accolade. The word accolade means "an expression of the highest praise," and the new name was inspired by the consistently enthusiastic responses the group received from their clients and audiences during their first ten years.
